Assistant Accounting Manager

About the role

The Assistant Accounting Manager will support the finance function by overseeing month‑end close, managing core accounting processes and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This position works closely with the Shared Service Center and operational teams in a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Lead month‑end closing activities, including reconciliations, accruals and provisions.
• Review general ledger postings for accuracy, proper classification and policy compliance.
• Coordinate with the Shared Service Center on accounts payable, accounts receivable, record‑to‑report and master‑data activities.
• Oversee AP, AR and cash‑related accounting functions.
• Review supplier and customer reconciliations, aging reports and payment proposals.
• Support inventory, costing and COGS analysis in partnership with operations.
• Participate in physical inventory counts and investigate variances.
• Assist internal and external audits and address audit findings.
• Implement and monitor internal controls and drive process improvements.
• Guide and support junior accounting team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 6–8 years of accounting and finance experience, including 2–3 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Experience in manufacturing or the plastic industry is highly preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP Business One or a similar ERP system.
• Strong reporting, analytical and communication abilities.
• Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, ACCA, SOCPA or IFRS certification is a plus.
