Assistant Manager - Model Risk Management

About the role

The Assistant Manager will support end‑to‑end model risk management for Mashreq Group, focusing on validation and governance of credit and market risk models. You will work on probability of default (PD), exposure at default (EAD), loss given default (LGD) models as well as macro‑economic, VaR, PSRE, CVA and FRTB models.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining enterprise‑wide model validation standards.
• Support model risk governance, including data integrity and validation activities.
• Measure and monitor key model performance metrics and risk capital.
• Prepare model performance reports for senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with wholesale, retail, market and operational risk teams, finance, audit and business units.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the BFSI sector with a focus on risk quantification.
• Master’s degree (or Bachelor’s with at least two additional years of experience) in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering or related fields.
• Strong understanding of credit and market risk analytics, Basel and IFRS 9 regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent quantitative, verbal and written communication skills.
• Team player, self‑starter and highly motivated.
