About the role
Nile University’s School of Digital Humanities is seeking an Assistant Professor to teach and research in Literature, with a focus on transcultural identity, comparative literature, and digital culture. The position is full‑time and involves both undergraduate and postgraduate instruction.
Key responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in English Language and Literature, covering transcultural identity, comparative literature, and digital culture.
- Develop, review, and continuously improve course syllabi, teaching materials, assessments, and learning activities.
- Supervise undergraduate graduation projects and postgraduate theses, and serve on examination and defence committees.
- Conduct high‑quality scholarly research and publish in reputable, peer‑reviewed international journals.
- Contribute to accreditation, quality assurance, and assurance of learning processes.
- Participate in curriculum development, program review, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to support student success.
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary teaching, research, and community engagement.
- Engage in academic, administrative, and professional service activities at the school, university, and community levels.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in Literature, Comparative Literature, Digital Humanities, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and student supervision.
- Strong record of scholarly publications in reputable peer‑reviewed journals.
- Experience in interdisciplinary research involving digital tools applied to humanities subjects.
- Evidence of contribution to academic service, quality assurance, and accreditation activities.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
