Assistant Team Leader - Product Development

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Team Leader to support our Product Development function at Juhayna Food Industries. You will help drive the R&D pipeline, turning ideas into market‑ready dairy and beverage innovations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing scientific and technical solutions that meet consumer expectations and regulatory requirements.
• Support R&D projects from concept, prototyping, validation to launch.
• Coordinate formulation, testing and documentation of lab‑scale and pilot‑scale prototypes.
• Help qualify new ingredients, packaging materials and processes.
• Participate in technology transfer activities to ensure smooth hand‑over to manufacturing.
• Monitor project timelines, report progress, risks and resource needs.
• Troubleshoot product or process issues and propose technical solutions.
• Contribute to reformulation and product renovation for cost optimisation and productivity.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation including formulations, trial reports and risk assessments.
• Act as liaison between R&D and cross‑functional teams such as QA, marketing, supply chain and manufacturing.
• Support laboratory and pilot plant facility maintenance.
• Lead small‑scale R&D initiatives under supervision and mentor junior staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• 0‑1 years of experience in research and development within dairy or beverage sectors.
• Strong communication and planning abilities.
• Good analytical thinking.
