Associate Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Associate Software Engineer with a focus on embedded systems for automotive applications. The role involves defining and delivering high‑quality embedded solutions while ensuring safety, performance, and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in workshops with stakeholders to capture system requirements.
• Write clear, SMART technical specifications for embedded software and hardware.
• Maintain vertical traceability from vehicle‑level requirements to software units and test cases using tools such as IBM DOORS or Jama.
• Ensure compliance with functional safety standards, especially ISO 26262.
• Assess change requests and manage the requirement lifecycle throughout the V‑model.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Embedded Systems or a related field.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience.
• Fluency in German.
• Strong understanding of embedded C/C++, microcontrollers (ARM, Aurix) and real‑time operating systems.
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, CAN‑FD, LIN and Automotive Ethernet.
• Knowledge of ASPICE and ISO 26262 safety standards.
