Buyer – Procurement (International)

About the role

ABB is looking for an experienced Buyer to join its Procurement team in Egypt. You will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials that meet technical specifications, price targets, and delivery schedules while ensuring compliance with corporate policies.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate and manage Purchase Orders in SAP according to requisitions and standard procedures.
• Confirm deliveries, monitor supplier performance, and track compliance with PO requirements.
• Negotiate agreements, renew price lists, and propose frame agreements for approval.
• Identify and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with the category team.
• Analyze bids and evaluate offers to secure optimal value for the company.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of foreign procurement experience, managing international suppliers and logistics.
• Strong understanding of the Egyptian import market and customs clearance procedures.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (advantage).
• Proactive stakeholder management and ability to work under high‑pressure demands.
• High ethical standards and commitment to transparent, compliant procurement practices.

Required skills

• SAP ERP for Purchase Order creation and management.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel for tracking and reporting.
• English proficiency for communication with foreign suppliers.
• Knowledge of Egyptian customs clearance procedures.
• Familiarity with Incoterms and international trade documentation.
