Cloud Tools & DevOps Engineer – VMware Platform

About the role

The Cloud Tools & DevOps Engineer will design, implement, and manage automation for VMware‑based private cloud platforms. You will enable self‑service provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, and observability across enterprise and telecom environments while supporting Cloud Center of Excellence initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and automate VMware private cloud infrastructure, including provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure‑as‑Code templates, scripts, and reusable assets using Terraform, Ansible, Python, Bash, and Aria orchestrator.
• Build, operate, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for both infrastructure and application deployments with Jenkins and GitLab.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions using ELK Stack and Grafana.
• Support Kubernetes/OpenShift and VMware Tanzu environments, ensuring secure automation practices (RBAC, secrets management, compliance).
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, automation, and deployment issues; participate in incident, change, release, and problem management.
• Maintain documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and architecture diagrams; contribute to platform engineering standards and accelerators.

Required profile

• 8–10 years of relevant IT experience with a minimum of 3 years focused on VMware automation/DevOps.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in enterprise cloud operations and platform modernization.
