Design Engineer – Solar PV Projects

About the role

EgyBell is seeking a Design Engineer to join a leading renewable‑energy client. The role focuses on the conceptual and detailed design of small‑ to medium‑scale solar PV installations, covering on‑grid, off‑grid, hybrid and pumping systems.

Key responsibilities

• Create and revise preliminary solar layouts, delivering 3D visualisations, Pvsyst reports and BOQs.
• Lead the design team and coordinate with internal departments (Aftersales, Sales, Operations).
• Develop detailed solar layout drawings using CAD, SLD, concrete plans and wiring schematics.
• Perform design calculations (voltage drop, cable and tray sizing) in Excel.
• Conduct technical site visits, manage RFQs and tendering processes.
• Communicate with suppliers and the operations team to streamline installation.
• Participate in client technical meetings and research emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design for solar projects.
• Experience with structural design is a plus.
