Director of Development

About the role

The Director of Development leads the end‑to‑end delivery of projects, overseeing conceptualisation, planning, financial analysis and hand‑over. Reporting to the CEO, the role ensures that all fit‑out and construction initiatives are executed on time, within scope and budget while coordinating across business development, design, tendering and construction teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define project scope and objectives with all stakeholders, confirming technical and contractual feasibility.
• Allocate internal resources and manage vendors to guarantee successful execution.
• Supervise the full project lifecycle from initiation to close‑out, including regular site visits and progress monitoring.
• Ensure projects meet timeline, scope and budget targets, taking corrective actions when needed.
• Oversee contractor payments, maintain comprehensive documentation and manage design development, tendering and execution.
• Monitor business, financial and project‑management indices to safeguard profitability.
• Identify and assess new development opportunities across product and geographic markets.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams (planning, design, construction, legal, finance, marketing) to align with approved master plans.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading large‑scale development or construction projects.
• Strong financial acumen with ability to analyse profit and loss statements.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to drive projects through complex, multi‑disciplinary environments.
