Electrical Procurement Engineer

About the role

The Electrical Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services related to electrical works for construction projects. This role ensures timely delivery of quality materials while managing budgets and liaising with suppliers, contractors, and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Source and procure materials, products, and services required for electrical engineering projects.
• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and purchase orders, and negotiate terms, prices, and delivery schedules.
• Develop and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and evaluate their performance.
• Assist in preparing procurement budgets, monitor costs, and ensure efficient resource utilization.
• Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and project managers to align procurement with project specifications and schedules.
• Draft and review contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and provide regular reports on activities, costs, and vendor performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 3 years of procurement experience in the construction or engineering industry.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with procurement software.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel.
• Microsoft Word and PowerPoint competence.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles.
