Environmental Specialist

About the role

The Environmental Specialist will lead the company’s environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and emergency preparedness. This role ensures that all ISO 14001:2015 procedures are followed, waste streams are managed responsibly, and staff are trained on environmental best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the company Environmental Record and oversee ISO 14001:2015 internal and external audits.
• Conduct environmental aspect surveys, compile impact records, and develop corrective and preventive action plans.
• Manage the full waste lifecycle for hazardous and non‑hazardous waste, implement the 4R code, and supervise wastewater and drinking‑water documentation.
• Plan and execute internal and external measurements for all environmental aspects, ensuring proper calibration of measurement devices.
• Coordinate environmental emergency plan drills and produce detailed post‑drill reports with corrective actions.
• Deliver environmental training, lead biodiversity projects, and design power‑saving and carbon‑footprint reduction initiatives.
• Lead the environmental technician team and perform regular workplace environmental inspections.

Required profile

• Proven experience in environmental management and ISO 14001 compliance.
• Strong background in waste and resource management, including hazardous waste handling.
• Ability to plan and conduct environmental impact assessments and emergency response drills.
• Leadership experience managing technical teams and conducting training sessions.
