Field Service Engineer & IT Specialist

About the role

bioMérieux is seeking a Field Service Engineer & IT Specialist to join its Customer Service / Service & Technical Support department in Cairo, Egypt. The role involves travelling across Cairo, Alexandria and Upper Egypt to install, maintain and support diagnostic systems and their connectivity solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, validate and commission bioMérieux diagnostic instruments.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking and connectivity issues on‑site and remotely.
• Support deployment, configuration and integration of MYLA, MAESTRIA, LAB ANALYTICS, CLARION, VILINK and LIS connectivity solutions.
• Ensure reliable data flow between instruments, middleware platforms and Laboratory Information Systems.
• Document all service interventions according to company procedures.
• Provide customer training, support system go‑lives and promote service contracts.
• Manage spare parts and service tools efficiently.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics or a related field.
• 3–5 years of field service experience, preferably in IT networking, IVD or medical device environments.
• Strong understanding of laboratory workflows and Laboratory Information Systems.

Required skills

• Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN).
• Experience with middleware solutions and system integrations.
• Knowledge of LIS connectivity and data flow management.
• Hardware, software and connectivity troubleshooting.
