Full Stack Golang Engineer

About the role

Cisco is looking for a Full Stack Golang Engineer to join its US‑based Academy team while working remotely from Egypt. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable micro‑services that power digital learning platforms, collaborating with product, design, and content teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement RESTful and gRPC micro‑services using Golang.
• Define API contracts, service boundaries, and overall system architecture.
• Integrate services with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Build asynchronous, event‑driven workflows with Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Optimize services for performance, reliability, scalability, and observability.
• Deploy and operate containers on Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver clean, maintainable code.
• Optionally contribute to front‑end features using React, Angular, or Vue.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in software development and full‑stack engineering.
• Hands‑on experience building web applications and services with Go.
• Background in back‑end development, RESTful API design, and micro‑services.
• Competence in front‑end development and responsive UI implementation.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and monitoring tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in EdTech or large‑scale learning platforms is a plus.
