General Accountant

About the role

FlapKap is seeking a General Accountant to join its fast‑growing finance team. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month‑end close, and ensuring compliance with local accounting standards. This role offers the chance to work in a collaborative, hybrid environment while contributing to the financial health of a leading fintech in the MENA region.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions and maintain the accounting system.
• Prepare journal entries with proper documentation and approvals.
• Perform bank, cash, and balance‑sheet reconciliations regularly.
• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
• Prepare and analyse financial reports and supporting schedules.
• Maintain fixed‑asset records and calculate depreciation.
• Support budgeting and forecasting by providing accurate financial data.
• Ensure compliance with Egyptian accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Assist with external audits, tax inspections, and regulatory reporting.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Professional certifications such as CMA, ACCA, CPA or DipIFR are a plus.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to use financial analysis tools.
