General Ledger & Taxation Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a General Ledger & Taxation Accountant to join our finance team in Maadi, Cairo. The role involves managing core accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and handling tax compliance in line with Egyptian regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries accurately and timely.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Perform bank, vendor, customer, and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Review transactions for compliance with accounting policies.
• Support preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Assist in month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Prepare and submit VAT, withholding tax, and other tax returns.
• Issue and manage e‑invoices and e‑receipts through the Egyptian Tax Authority system.
• Follow up on invoice validation, rejections, and required corrections.
• Maintain tax records and support tax audits and inquiries.
• Monitor tax deadlines and stay updated on regulatory changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in accounting, taxation, or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of general‑ledger accounting principles.
• Basic knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Analytical and numerical aptitude.
