Industrial Electrical Technician – Gas Turbine Overhaul

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Electrical Technician to lead the electrical and instrumentation work on a major Gas Turbine (GT 82) and Generator overhaul in the UAE. The assignment lasts one month, covering a planned outage from 5 October to 5 November, and requires end‑to‑end disassembly, troubleshooting, and re‑installation of critical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Systematically disconnect, label, and remove GT and Generator electrical and instrument cabling.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and remount all turbine sensors, including thermocouples, vibration and speed sensors, and fiber‑optic detection systems.
• Extract and re‑route complex cabling while preserving shielding and termination quality to avoid EMI.
• Provide hands‑on support during calibration and loop‑check phases to ensure OEM specifications are met.
• Assist the mechanical team with any electrical or instrumentation support required throughout the disassembly/reassembly sequence.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy‑industrial environments such as power plants, oil & gas, or petrochemical facilities.
• Proven experience with gas turbines and rotating equipment.
• Strong knowledge of LOTO, Permit‑to‑Work, and confined‑space safety procedures.
• Familiarity with international safety standards and OEM installation procedures.

Required skills

• Interpretation of complex electrical wiring diagrams, cable schedules and P&IDs.
• Industrial cable termination and conduit system expertise.
• Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out (LOTO) implementation.
• Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) processes.
• Instrumentation troubleshooting for temperature, vibration, and fiber‑optic sensors.
• Gas turbine electrical system knowledge.
