IVI Audio Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced IVI Audio Software Engineer to own the end‑to‑end audio subsystem of an automotive In‑Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) head‑unit. You will work on a QNX‑based platform powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Automotive silicon, integrating audio frameworks, routing, mixing and DSP processing while meeting strict latency and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and integrate the audio software stack on QNX, including HAL, framework layers, audio policy, routing, mixing, ducking and volume control.
• Develop and maintain the audio topologies and calibration data flow between the application processor and the Hexagon audio DSP.
• Bring up and validate audio hardware paths (codecs, amplifiers, external DSPs) over I2S/TDM, A2B, SPDIF and Automotive Ethernet (AVB/TSN).
• Implement multi‑zone, multi‑source use cases such as media, navigation, telephony, voice assistants, warning chimes and AVAS.
• Manage audio latency, sample‑rate conversion, A/V sync, gPTP/PTP and prevent buffer underruns/overruns.
• Route audio across guest OS boundaries on a virtualized platform, handling priority and latency implications.
• Integrate speech front‑end processing (AEC, beamforming, noise suppression) and Bluetooth audio profiles (A2DP, HFP, LE Audio/LC3).
• Define, measure and automate audio KPIs, debug field issues and support OEM acoustic tuning teams.

Required profile

• 5+ years of embedded software development experience, with at least 3 years focused on audio subsystems.
• Strong hands‑on experience with QNX (io‑audio, QSA, MMF) and Qualcomm Snapdragon Automotive platforms.
• Proven ability to work with OEM, Tier‑1 suppliers and cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to debug complex hardware‑software interactions.
