Java Software Engineer

About the role

We are a shipping and logistics company that connects customers with carriers, customs systems, and partner shipping networks across multiple regions. We are looking for a Java Software Engineer to join our integration engineering team, focusing on backend services that power order creation, shipment tracking, and webhook‑based communication with our shipping partners.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services in Java (Spring Boot) that integrate with multiple third‑party shipping and logistics partners via REST and SOAP APIs.
• Develop partner‑specific integration modules using design patterns such as strategy/service‑per‑partner to enable easy addition of new carriers.
• Build and maintain webhook senders and receivers for order status updates, tracking events, and order creation across partner platforms.
• Implement asynchronous, non‑blocking processing for high‑volume shipment events using Spring async capabilities and AWS messaging services (SQS/SNS).
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests (JUnit, Mockito) to ensure code passes CI/CD pipeline checks before deployment.
• Contribute to internal front‑end tools such as partner status dashboards, order monitoring screens, or admin panels used by operations and support teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of hands‑on Java development experience (Java 8 or later).
• Strong experience with Spring / Spring Boot in a production environment.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL) and ORM/JPA‑based data access.
• Practical experience integrating with external REST/JSON and SOAP/XML APIs.
• Experience with asynchronous processing patterns and message queues.
• Working knowledge of AWS services relevant to backend hosting.
• Solid understanding of Git and standard version‑control workflows.
