Java Software Engineer

About the role

The Java Software Engineer works closely with product and design teams to understand end‑user requirements and translate them into pragmatic, high‑performance backend solutions. The role focuses on building scalable, secure services that enhance the client’s technology stack.

Key responsibilities

• Shape and implement technology and business solutions that differentiate the client organization.
• Rapidly develop creative and efficient solutions using modern Java‑based technologies.
• Collaborate with team members to implement user stories, write automated tests, and continuously deliver new or improved functionality.
• Communicate with internal IT teams to resolve technical dependencies during implementation.

Required profile

• Engineer I: 0‑2 years of software development experience; Engineer II: 2‑4 years; Engineer III: 4‑6 years.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; advanced degree preferred with an outstanding academic record.
• Proven experience with JVM languages such as Java 8+ and Kotlin, and modern backend frameworks like Spring Boot.

Required skills

• Java (8+), Kotlin, Spring Boot
• Design and consumption of RESTful APIs in large‑scale distributed applications
• Microservice architecture, service discovery, circuit breakers
• Relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB) and NoSQL stores (MongoDB, CouchDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch)
• Build tools: Maven, Gradle; CI/CD pipelines: Jenkins, Azure Pipelines
• Code refactoring, design patterns, test‑driven development, continuous integration
• Containerisation with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes (plus)
• Agile development methodologies
• Additional language knowledge (NodeJS, Go, Python) is a plus
