About the role
Henkel is looking for a Junior AI Engineer to join its corporate functions team. You will help design and deploy AI‑driven solutions that enhance business processes and improve decision‑making across the company.
Key responsibilities
- Build agentic LLM applications with tool‑calling, routing and multi‑step orchestration, and create RAG pipelines over enterprise documents.
- Define evaluation criteria such as accuracy, groundedness, cost and latency, and iterate on AI features accordingly.
- Integrate AI capabilities into business interfaces (Microsoft Teams, chat, voice) and enterprise data platforms (SQL warehouses, NL‑to‑SQL, BI tools).
- Develop scalable AI pipelines and embed models into production systems.
- Assess AI use cases, model performance and business impact, and collaborate with data, technology and business teams to identify opportunities.
- Implement responsible AI, governance, security and monitoring practices, and optimise solutions for scalability and reliability.
- Stay current with emerging AI technologies and industry trends.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in software development or AI engineering.
- Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams.
Required skills
- Python programming, FastAPI, Pydantic validation.
- Agent frameworks such as LangGraph or LangChain.
- Infrastructure as code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Machine Learning / Deep Learning concepts, LLMs, prompt engineering and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture.
- SQL and API development.
- Cloud platform experience, preferably Azure.
- Git version control.
- Nice‑to‑have: Microsoft Teams bot development (Bot Framework, Teams AI SDK), Model Context Protocol, SAP Business Technology Platform.
