About the role
EgyBell is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join a leading insurance company. You will work on Java EE applications, contributing to development, maintenance, and integration of web‑based solutions while collaborating with a cross‑functional team.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy new features and bug fixes for existing Java EE applications.
- Maintain and enhance front‑end interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JSTL, jQuery, Bootstrap and JavaScript.
- Work with Oracle Database (SQL, PL/SQL) and JPA (EclipseLink) for data persistence.
- Develop and test REST and SOAP web services, using Postman for API validation.
- Deploy applications on Oracle WebLogic Server and IBM WebSphere environments.
- Manage source code with Git and SVN, and track work using Jira.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience (fresh graduates are welcome).
- Strong command of English.
- Interest or experience in the insurance sector is a plus.

- Java (Java 8), Spring Boot, JSF, RichFaces, JSP, Servlets.
- Object‑oriented programming, data structures and algorithms.
- HTML5, CSS3, JSTL, jQuery, Bootstrap, JavaScript.
- Oracle Database (9i), SQL, PL/SQL.
- JPA (EclipseLink), XSL, XML.
- REST/SOAP services, Postman.
- Oracle WebLogic Server, IBM WebSphere.
- Git, SVN, Jira.
- JasperReports (report design) and Crystal Reports (optional).
