Laboratory Chemist – Yeast Production

About the role

Lesaffre Egypt is seeking a Laboratory Chemist to support its yeast and yeast‑extract manufacturing operations. The role involves performing both physical and chemical analyses on raw materials, intermediates, and final products to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Calibrate all laboratory instruments and maintain calibration records.
• Identify and analyze samples received from production, including raw materials, sterilized molasses, creams, and finished products.
• Prepare chemicals required for laboratory and production analyses.
• Conduct water quality tests on WWT, boiler, chiller, and cooling‑tower water (COD, POD, pH, conductivity, free chlorine, TDS, hardness, iron, sulfite).
• Record, report, and document all analytical results, communicating out‑of‑specifications to the Lab Section Head.
• Perform inter‑lab and repeatability tests as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Special Chemistry, or Chemistry/Microbiology.
• 0–2 years of laboratory experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Strong attention to detail in instrument calibration and sample analysis.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with laboratory and production teams while adhering to regulated laboratory protocols.
