Lifting Engineer (Inspection and Operation Supervision)

About the role

SGS, a global testing, inspection and certification company, is hiring a Lifting Engineer based in Cairo to plan and supervise lifting operations on construction sites. The role covers coordination with rigging teams, inspection of lifting equipment and issuance of lifting certificates.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and supervise lifting operations to ensure safety and efficiency
• Coordinate with rigging teams and operators to carry out lifting activities safely
• Inspect all lifting equipment and accessories at site, and perform periodic control and weekly checks
• Document all lifting operations and issue lifting certificates for inspected items
• Provide toolbox talks and training on safe lifting practices

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (mandatory)
• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in lifting inspection on construction sites
• At least two LEEA certificates (Foundation, LAC and another relevant diploma)
• NDT Level II certification in MT, PT and VT
• APLO or equivalent certification
• Proficiency in computer skills

The position is offered as a one-year contract, renewable depending on performance and business needs. Preference is given to residents of Suez city.
