Maintenance Engineer I

About the role

The Maintenance Engineer I provides on‑site technical support for guest rooms and resort facilities. You will respond to repair requests, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate resolutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room assets.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment and machines; carry necessary equipment such as tools and radios.
• Identify, locate and operate shut‑off valves for equipment and building utilities.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved procedures.
• Execute surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and clean work areas.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical components, HVAC filters, lighting, TV systems and other guestroom items.
• Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping repairs, including sprinkler system maintenance.
• Enter air‑handler schedules and adjust temperature settings using basic computer skills.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to lift, carry, push or pull objects up to 50 lb without assistance.
• Professional appearance, confidentiality, and adherence to safety and security policies.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members.
