Mechanical Systems Technical Tendering Principal

About the role

Schneider Electric is hiring a Mechanical Systems Technical Tendering Principal in Cairo, Egypt. The role acts as design authority and customer technical referent for electrical and cooling solutions across selected strategic accounts of the EU C&SP Solution Center. It covers the full lifecycle, from early customer prescription and tender phases through project execution, ensuring technical excellence, consistency and standardization while complying with Schneider Electric's technical governance, quality, safety and cybersecurity principles.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical reference for customers on electrical and cooling design solutions, translating their technical drivers into optimized, compliant architectures.
• Engage proactively in technical prescription with customer central teams before RFQs and contribute to tender preparation with validated technical concepts and design assumptions.
• Lead the design definition of customer-approved solutions, aiming at standardization and reuse across regions, and develop complete design packages.
• Ensure solutions comply with Schneider Electric processes (CPP, TDP) and act as technical referent for Zone and Country Technical Leaders.
• Lead technical exchanges and workshops with customers, explaining complex concepts and trade-offs, and coordinate technical teams, SMEs and specialists.
• Monitor technical scope, engineering effort and key cost drivers, and work with PMs, GTLs, execution leaders, engineers, factories and suppliers.
• Coordinate technical aspects of subcontracted scope, support FAT, SAT and prototype validations, and support PMs on change and variation order assessments.
• Capture lessons learned and promote standardization and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (cooling).
• Fluent English and Arabic; other languages are a plus.
• +7 years leading the technical scope of customer projects or parts of large and international customer projects.
• Experience in hyperscale data centers, AI data center infrastructure, cooling design and equipment (chillers, FWU, CRAH, CRAC, CDU), and electrical equipment (MV/LV, EPMS & BMS).
• Ability to lead in a complex, matrix environment and to communicate complex technical strategy clearly and persuasively.
