Network Operations Center (NOC) Specialist

About the role

Geidea is seeking a proactive Network Operations Center (NOC) Specialist to join its IT team. The role involves 24/7 monitoring of servers, network devices and applications, providing first‑level support and ensuring high availability of critical services.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor infrastructure components such as servers, routers, switches, firewalls, WAN links, databases and cloud resources.
• Log, categorize and prioritize incidents in ITSM tools, perform L1 troubleshooting and escalate to higher tiers as needed.
• Validate alerts, manage thresholds, and ensure smooth handover between shifts.
• Track uptime, performance metrics and key KPIs (MTTR, incident volume, SLA compliance) and report trends.
• Maintain incident logs, shift reports, runbooks and SOPs; prepare daily operational summaries.
• Participate in major incident bridge calls, provide real‑time updates and assist with impact assessment.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in IT operations or network monitoring.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, engineering or a related field.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VPN).

Required skills

• Windows and/or Linux server environments.
• Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Monitoring tools such as Grafana, Zabbix, SolarWinds or PRTG.
• ITSM tools like ServiceNow or ManageEngine.
• Familiarity with cloud monitoring (AWS, Azure) – a plus.
• Basic scripting ability (PowerShell, Bash) – an advantage.
