About the role

The Office of Medical Services at The American University in Cairo is seeking a qualified Nurse to deliver high‑quality clinical care to students, staff and visitors. The role involves direct patient care, emergency response, and support for university events, ensuring a safe and healthy campus environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide ethical clinical nursing care, including patient assessment, preparation for examinations, and safe administration of treatments and medications.
• Act as first responder during medical emergencies and provide coverage for university events, sports, and off‑campus activities.
• Maintain accurate patient records, manage appointments, and coordinate sample collection and result sharing with physicians and external laboratories.
• Ensure proper functioning of medical equipment, manage inventory of supplies, and monitor medication validity dates.
• Adhere to infection‑control policies, protect patient privacy, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary medical team.
• Perform general administrative duties as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field.
• Minimum three years of nursing experience.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
• Commitment to patient safety, privacy, and compliance with relevant legislation and codes of practice.
