Pharmaceutical Quality Control Manager

About the role

Sabaa Pharmaceuticals is seeking a full‑time Pharmaceutical Quality Control Manager to lead its QC laboratory at the Balţīm manufacturing site. The manager will ensure that raw materials, in‑process samples, and finished products meet GMP and regulatory standards while supporting continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee sampling, testing, and release of raw materials, in‑process and finished products.
• Develop, implement, and maintain QC procedures and SOPs.
• Manage calibration and maintenance schedules for laboratory equipment.
• Ensure accurate documentation, data integrity, and record‑keeping.
• Lead, mentor, and train the QC team.
• Coordinate with Production, QA, and R&D to resolve quality issues.
• Participate in internal and external audits and regulatory inspections.
• Review and approve analytical methods, reports, and investigate non‑conformities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure laboratory safety and environmental compliance.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical QC principles, GMP, GLP and local regulatory requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field; advanced education or QC certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or QC laboratory management, preferably in generic medicines.
• Demonstrated leadership, team‑management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Excellent problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis and communication abilities.
