Phlebotomist – Plasma Collection (Maadi)

About the role

The Phlebotomist will care for plasma donors during plasmapheresis procedures, ensuring safe donor set‑up, successful collection, and proper initial processing of plasma units. The role requires maintaining equipment, a clean environment, and a professional attitude to promote a calm experience for donors.

Key responsibilities

• Assess donor suitability for plasmapheresis before venipuncture.
• Monitor donors and equipment to safeguard donor health and product quality.
• Set up, operate, and disconnect automated plasmapheresis machines, handling troubleshooting and documentation of exceptions.
• Calibrate, maintain, and, if trained, repair plasma collection equipment.
• Dispose of contaminated disposables and clean work areas between donors.
• Maintain accurate production records while ensuring donor confidentiality.
• Build rapport with donors to enhance satisfaction and encourage repeat donations.
• Follow all local regulations, SOPs, cGMP guidelines, and internal procedures.

Required profile

• Graduate of a nursing program or health technical institute (or equivalent).
• At least 1 year of clinical experience; experience with plasma or whole‑blood collection and cGMP environments is preferred.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
• Strong communication and customer‑service abilities, organized time management, and capacity to work in a fast‑paced, highly regulated medical setting.

Required skills

• Operation and troubleshooting of automated plasmapheresis machines.
• Equipment calibration, maintenance, and basic repair of plasma collection devices.
• MS Office knowledge (preferred).
