About the role
The PR, Communications & Government Affairs Specialist supports the company’s reputation in the pharmaceutical sector by managing internal and external communications, media relations, and government liaison activities. The role ensures compliance with strict healthcare regulations while building transparent relationships with regulators and public stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with key government bodies such as the Egyptian Drug Authority and Ministry of Health.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on changes in healthcare policies, pharmaceutical regulations, and legislation affecting market access.
- Prepare briefings, position papers, and presentations for senior leadership ahead of high‑level government meetings.
- Ensure all public affairs initiatives comply with local labour laws, industry regulations, and international pharmaceutical standards.
- Act as primary contact for industry press, handling media inquiries, drafting press releases, statements, and executive speaking notes.
- Support crisis communication planning and execution to protect the company’s reputation.
- Coordinate corporate participation and PR support for local and international pharmaceutical exhibitions, trade fairs, and scientific conferences.
- Lead proactive media outreach, build relationships with key media outlets, PR agencies, and external stakeholders.
- Assist in the communication and promotion of branded and unbranded product launches.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- An MBA or postgraduate diploma in Corporate Governance or Public Policy is a plus.
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, or Government Relations.
- Preferably experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector with solid knowledge of medical regulations and compliance.
