Principal Data Scientist - AI & Machine Learning (Databricks)

About the role

Integrant is looking for a Principal Data Scientist focused on AI and Machine Learning, based in Cairo. The role covers designing, developing and deploying machine learning and generative AI solutions, mentoring juniors and collaborating with engineering teams. It is part of a selective talent pipeline, and the position is not for urgent hiring.

Key responsibilities

• Extract insights from structured, semi-structured and unstructured data using mathematics, statistics, machine learning and AI techniques.
• Design, develop, evaluate and deploy predictive and prescriptive machine learning models.
• Build and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems and intelligent agent-based applications.
• Develop scalable model deployment and monitoring solutions using MLOps best practices, and monitor model performance and concept drift.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to productionize AI applications and mentor junior Data Scientists and ML engineers.
• Lead technical discussions, knowledge transfer sessions and client-facing AI engagements, and stay current with emerging AI, ML and MLOps technologies.

Required profile

• 7+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in Data Science, Machine Learning and MLOps.
• MSc in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related quantitative discipline.
• Experience mentoring, coaching or leading technical team members.
• Experience deploying AI/ML solutions on cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP or Databricks, and with ML platforms like Azure ML, AWS SageMaker or Google Vertex AI.
• Nice to have: leading AI initiatives, working with international clients, and advanced topics such as reinforcement learning, optimization, stochastic local search, knowledge graphs and graph machine learning.

Required skills

• Machine learning: classification, regression, clustering, association rule mining, feature engineering, deep learning, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, Keras or PyTorch.
• MLOps: CI/CD pipelines, model versioning, experiment tracking, MLflow, FastAPI, Streamlit.
• Generative AI: RAG, vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma, Milvus, Azure AI Search), LLM orchestration (LangChain, LangGraph), agentic AI (LlamaIndex, CrewAI, AutoGen), MCP, prompt engineering, LangSmith, RAGAS, embeddings, fine-tuning and LoRA.
• Data engineering: large-scale data pipelines on Azure, AWS or GCP, Databricks and Apache Spark.
