About the role
The Procurement Lead will head the organization’s procurement function, ensuring timely, cost‑effective, and compliant acquisition of goods and services. This senior position drives strategic sourcing, aligns procurement activities with business objectives, and promotes sustainable, value‑focused practices that support operational excellence and growth.
Key responsibilities
- Strategize and manage the full procurement lifecycle, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and alignment with company policies.
- Prioritize procurement categories, develop sourcing strategies, and select suppliers based on technical, financial, and strategic criteria.
- Supervise the procurement team in preparing and validating purchase orders with rigorous accuracy and compliance.
- Negotiate commercial and contractual terms to achieve optimal value while maintaining quality, delivery, and cost targets.
- Lead supplier qualification, evaluation, and performance monitoring, emphasizing local sourcing and diversification.
- Collaborate with engineering to identify alternative suppliers, especially in Egypt, to support local production.
- Develop and execute annual and project‑specific procurement plans that respect budget constraints.
- Conduct cost analysis, price benchmarking, and market assessments to drive cost‑saving initiatives.
- Prepare accurate reports and recommendations for senior management to enhance transparency.
- Establish standardized procurement processes, templates, and reporting frameworks.
- Coach and develop the procurement team, fostering technical capability, accountability, and ethical compliance.
- Promote a positive safety culture and adhere to the organization’s safety management system.
Required profile
- Proven leadership experience in strategic procurement and sourcing.
- Strong background in supplier relationship management and local sourcing initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage procurement plans, budgets, and cost‑analysis activities.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on commercial and contractual terms.
- Experience leading and coaching procurement teams in a compliance‑driven environment.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally with finance, legal, engineering, and operations.
