Project Manager - Construction

About the role

Turner & Townsend is hiring a Project Manager in Cairo for its real estate business. The role manages construction projects, coordinates suppliers and design teams, and supports clients and owners with technical and commercial guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage stakeholders such as architects, engineers and supply chain partners to deliver compliant projects.
• Analyse, track and manage critical milestones to avoid schedule slips, and forecast and update key milestones.
• Verify that project governance, processes and systems are used, and that best practice is applied.
• Produce formal project status reports and other reports as required.
• Monitor the progress of several construction projects at once so that approved design standards are applied correctly.
• Manage supplier interfaces through monthly trackers and weekly reviews, and the flow of information through regular meetings and written communication.
• Manage and monitor local design teams in line with commission criteria.
• Provide technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholders, and give cost control, value engineering and constructability advice where needed.
• Independently review status reports, drawing submittals, timelines and costs from architects, contractors and suppliers.
• Build good relationships with clients, advise project teams on approaches that meet client and business objectives, capture project learnings, and identify business development and cross-selling opportunities.
• Improve internal systems and processes, and manage project manager functions in D365 for all commissions.
• Prepare weekly CDA updates in line with the business unit's CDA health score target of 90%.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or a related field.
• 7-10 years of experience in construction project management, with a strong track record in client-facing roles.
• Working towards a professional qualification; PMP is an advantage.
• Experience working for a construction company; banking and PMC experience preferred.
• Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field is an added advantage.
• Must be able and willing to work onsite as needed.
