School Counselor & SEN Teacher

About the role

Gems International School Soma Bay is looking for a compassionate professional to serve as both a School Counselor and a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher. The role combines direct support for students with special needs and broader counseling services to promote academic, emotional, and social development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tailored educational support to students with SEN.
• Deliver individual and group counseling sessions for children and adolescents.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external specialists to design inclusive learning plans.
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
• Maintain safeguarding standards and ensure student welfare.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Special Education, Counseling, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification and/or counseling qualifications.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a SEN teacher and/or school counselor, preferably in an international or IB setting.
• Strong knowledge of special educational needs and effective counseling techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
• Successful police checks and verifiable references.
