Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead the preparation and analysis of budgets, cash flow and financial statements, supporting senior management with accurate reporting. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with accounting standards and optimizing cost structures within a commercial trading environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual and quarterly budgets and conduct variance analysis against actual results.
• Prepare and monitor cash flow statements and manage company liquidity.
• Establish cost centres and allocate revenues and expenses accurately.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports for senior management.
• Ensure accurate preparation of sales and purchase invoices and credit notes.
• Maintain compliance with accounting principles and financial standards.
• Support management with financial analysis and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce with an accounting major.
• Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably in the commercial/trading sector (trading, import/export, or distribution).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial standards.
• Proven experience in cost centre setup and analysis.
• Experience in budgeting, variance analysis, and cash flow preparation.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, formulas, financial analysis).
• Hands‑on experience with cloud‑based accounting systems.
