Senior Associate - Financial Accounting & Reporting

About the role

PwC is hiring a Senior Associate in its Technical Accounting team in Cairo, within the Internal Firm Services line of service. The role sits in a commercially focused team working on complex accounting advisory engagements, offering development in commercial accounting and reporting alongside work on several accounting and reporting transformation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist team managers in delivering complex accounting advisory engagements for a variety of clients.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with key client staff and internal PwC colleagues, and interact regularly with other PwC lines of service such as tax, legal and deals.
• Manage multiple projects at once, balancing tasks and commitments.
• Provide practical, commercial accounting advice to clients and conduct in-depth research on complex matters.
• Prepare technical papers for discussion with senior team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business studies, accounting or finance.
• ACA, ACCA or CPA is preferable.
• Audit or other relevant experience in a Big 4 firm or insurance company; accounting advisory experience and experience in the GCC are beneficial.
• Fluency in English and Arabic, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel within Egypt, the Middle East and wherever the project dictates.

Required skills

• In-depth understanding of IFRS and general accounting principles.
• Experience in the insurance or financial services industry, including complex accounting matters.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, meet tight deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
