Senior Backend Engineer (.NET / C# Microservices)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and optimise high‑performance backend services that power mission‑critical healthcare and procurement platforms. You will build scalable .NET 8 microservices, create secure APIs, and implement event‑driven architectures using Kafka while ensuring reliability and observability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services with .NET 8 and ASP.NET Core.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs, GraphQL endpoints, and background processing services.
• Develop event‑driven microservices using Kafka, handling producers, consumers, retries, idempotency and DLQ strategies.
• Apply Domain‑Driven Design and Clean Architecture principles.
• Optimise data access with Entity Framework Core and SQL Server, including indexing, query tuning and migrations.
• Implement distributed‑system patterns such as Outbox/Inbox, correlation IDs, tracing and resilient communication.
• Integrate services with Ultimus BPM for workflow automation.
• Enhance observability using Serilog, Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch/Kibana) and distributed tracing.
• Ensure API security, rate limiting, input validation and OWASP best practices.
• Write automated unit, integration and contract tests and participate in code reviews.
• Deploy and support containerised applications on on‑premises Kubernetes clusters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of backend software development experience.
• At least 2 years of production experience with ASP.NET Core/.NET Core.
• Proven experience building and maintaining microservices architectures.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Kafka and SQL Server.
