Senior Case Management Officer – Alternative Care

About the role

The Senior Case Management Officer (Alternative Care) will lead case management and mentorship for unaccompanied and separated children (UASC) requiring family‑based alternative care in Greater Cairo. The role ensures high‑quality implementation, technical capacity building, and timely reporting in line with Save the Children standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee pilot alternative‑care interventions, including case management, emergency cash, and identification of alternative caregivers.
• Supervise 2 caseworkers and 4 community mentors, ensuring accurate screenings, assessments, action plans, and regular case file audits.
• Coordinate with risk, compliance, and child‑protection teams to mainstream safeguarding and adhere to SOPs.
• Manage the budget for the case‑management component, forecast expenditures and flag financial risks.
• Provide quarterly performance evaluations, develop capacity‑building plans, and ensure robust M&E and reporting to donors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a development‑related field (Master’s preferred); 5‑7 years of humanitarian or development experience.
• Extensive experience in child‑protection programming, specifically case management for refugees and migrants in alternative care.
• Proven leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering results under tight timelines.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding policies, donor reporting, and budget management.
