Senior Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Cyber Security Engineer to protect the digital ecosystem of a leading Egyptian bank undergoing a major digital transformation. The role involves defending critical financial applications, infrastructure, and data architecture against evolving cyber threats while ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents across enterprise environments.
• Collaborate with the SOC team to refine SIEM playbooks and response procedures.
• Lead vulnerability assessments and coordinate internal and external penetration testing.
• Prioritize and oversee remediation efforts with infrastructure and development teams.
• Design, deploy, and maintain security controls such as EDR/MDR, Next‑Gen Firewalls, IAM, and DLP solutions.
• Partner with data and infrastructure teams to embed secure‑by‑design principles in new data architecture, cloud deployments, and API integrations.
• Maintain audit‑readiness and ensure alignment with CBE regulations, PCI‑DSS, ISO 27001, and local data privacy laws.
• Conduct third‑party vendor risk assessments and promote a security‑aware culture.

Required profile

• Proactive professional with extensive experience in cybersecurity within the financial sector.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure during incidents.
• Excellent collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams.
