Senior Director, Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program

About the role

The Senior Director leads the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at AUC, reporting to the Provost. This strategic position oversees the full grant lifecycle, from recruitment to graduation and grant closeout, ensuring alignment with the university’s mission and sponsor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Set long‑term vision and strategy for the Scholars Program, aligning with AUC’s goals.
• Provide technical, managerial, and financial oversight to program staff and scholars.
• Collaborate with the Office of Sponsored Programs to develop compliant proposals and manage budgeting.
• Act as the primary liaison with the Mastercard Foundation for program implementation, reporting, and risk management.
• Ensure strict compliance with sponsor regulations, university policies, and audit requirements.
• Lead recruitment, selection, and student success initiatives for each scholarship cohort.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in grant or scholarship program management.
• Strong understanding of higher‑education administration and compliance frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to advise senior administration on risk, compliance, and strategic growth.
