Senior Regional Pre-Construction Lead (GES)

About the role

The Senior Regional Pre-Construction Lead (GES) drives the engineering design and pre‑construction phases for large‑scale fulfillment, sort‑center and quick‑commerce projects (6k‑1MM sq ft) across the AMET region. Managing an annual investment portfolio of over USD 1 billion, the role ensures sites are selected, evaluated, designed and ready for construction while meeting timeline, quality and financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all pre‑construction activities – site selection, evaluation, budget estimate, concept, schematic and detailed design – in partnership with Design & Construction and Real Estate teams.
• Identify process improvements, analyze design conflicts and mitigate risks throughout the pre‑construction phase.
• Make critical decisions on complex situations, applying sound judgment and defining escalation paths.
• Guide cross‑functional teams to deliver project deliverables independently and champion continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Navigate local regulations and customer requirements, proposing innovative solutions that exceed expectations.
• Produce written communications for business partners and stakeholders, building influential relationships inside and outside Amazon.
• Troubleshoot issues autonomously and drive them to closure while managing multicultural teams.
• Travel up to 50% across the AMET region to support site evaluations and project execution.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level leadership in large‑scale construction or real‑estate projects.
• Strong risk‑management and analytical capabilities.
• Excellent decision‑making skills with the ability to balance strategic initiatives and day‑to‑day project leadership.
• Experience leading cross‑functional, multicultural teams.
• Effective written and verbal communication with senior stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the region.
