Senior Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Senior Software Engineer to join our fast‑moving startup in Dubai (with opportunities in Egypt). You will design, build, and maintain the scalable back‑end systems that power our product, taking ownership from initial design through deployment and production.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reliable, high‑performance back‑end services.
• Own complex systems end‑to‑end, from architecture to production operations.
• Build critical infrastructure from scratch and make sound technical decisions.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure rapid delivery while maintaining high quality.

Required profile

• GitHub profile showcasing code, projects, or libraries.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience using Java.
• Strong hands‑on experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and deep understanding of database design, indexing, query optimisation, transactions, schema design, and performance.
• Solid grasp of computer‑science fundamentals, algorithms, data structures, and system design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced startup environment with a strong ownership mindset.
