Senior Software Engineer

About the role

FlendFlend is a fast‑moving fintech building a lending platform for small and medium‑sized enterprises in Egypt. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design, build and scale the core systems that power our end‑to‑end loan journey.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services and APIs for lending and onboarding workflows.
• Create and improve internal admin and operations tools.
• Model, optimise and tune PostgreSQL schemas and queries for high‑volume financial transactions.
• Build reporting pipelines and data flows that give visibility into the loan portfolio.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, Dockerised deployments and production reliability.
• Write clean, well‑tested, documented code and mentor teammates through code reviews.
• Collaborate with product, operations and risk teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proven experience building financial or fintech systems.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to deliver end‑to‑end features.

Required skills

• Node.js and NestJS (TypeScript) for backend development.
• React or React Admin for internal tooling.
• PostgreSQL schema design, query optimisation and performance tuning.
• Docker for containerised deployments.
• CI/CD tools such as Jenkins (or equivalent).
• Git version control and code‑review best practices.
