Senior System Administrator – Virtualization & VMware Specialist

About the role

The Senior System Administrator – Virtualization & VMware Specialist will lead the design, deployment and optimisation of Crédit Agricole Egypt’s enterprise virtualization environment. This senior position focuses on ensuring high availability, security and scalability of both on‑premises and hybrid cloud infrastructures built on VMware technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain a highly available VMware vSphere platform (ESXi, vCenter, vSAN).
• Lead technical sizing, hardware selection and deployment for rack and blade servers such as Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, Cisco UCS and Supermicro.
• Perform continuous capacity planning, performance tuning and resource monitoring for hypervisor hosts, clusters and associated SAN/NAS storage.
• Architect, deploy and manage VMware NSX (NSX‑T) for network virtualization and security.
• Implement and oversee Site Recovery Manager (SRM) for disaster‑recovery strategies.
• Lead complex migration projects, manage physical server lifecycles and mentor junior administrators.

Required profile

• Extensive experience as a subject‑matter expert with VMware vSphere, NSX and Site Recovery Manager.
• Proven ability to design and implement enterprise‑grade virtualization architectures.
• Hands‑on experience with Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, Cisco UCS and Supermicro hardware platforms.
• Strong knowledge of capacity planning, performance optimisation and storage technologies (SAN/NAS).
