SOC Manager

About the role

The Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager leads the SOC team to provide continuous monitoring, detection, analysis and response to cyber‑security incidents. This senior position shapes SOC strategy, ensures compliance with security policies and coordinates incident response across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage L1/L2 SOC operations and ensure 24×7 coverage.
• Define and maintain SOC processes, procedures and playbooks.
• Oversee monitoring of security alerts, triage, escalation and incident handling.
• Develop and update incident response and disaster recovery plans.
• Produce regular dashboards and reports for senior management and the CISO.
• Ensure compliance with security standards, regulations and internal policies.
• Drive threat‑hunting, threat‑intelligence and continuous improvement of detection capabilities.
• Manage third‑party security vendors and service providers.
• Mentor SOC staff, conduct performance reviews and plan resource allocation.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of experience in SOC operations and incident response management.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity architecture, risk assessment and security controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field.
• Proven leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Excellent analytical and decision‑making skills under pressure.

Required skills

• SIEM, SOAR, EDR, NDR and DLP technologies (e.g., Splunk).
• Incident response and threat‑hunting methodologies.
• Network security concepts and protocols.
• Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Scripting languages: Python, PowerShell, Bash.
• Security frameworks: ISO 27001, NIST, CIS.
• Risk assessment and security control evaluation.
• Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
