About the role
The Social Empowerment Director leads the foundation’s social empowerment portfolio, shaping strategy, overseeing budgets, and ensuring effective delivery of programs that align with the organization’s mission. Reporting to the Programs Director, this senior role coordinates with ministries, partners, and internal teams to drive impact across communities.
Key responsibilities
- Define and implement the social empowerment strategy and annual action plan in line with the foundation’s vision.
- Plan, allocate, and monitor the financial budget for new and ongoing empowerment projects.
- Ensure proper disbursement and accounting of funds in collaboration with finance and auditors.
- Establish performance standards, monitoring, evaluation, and accountability frameworks for programs.
- Coordinate with Financial, Economic, and Communication sectors and maintain liaison with Ministry of Solidarity, Health, and Planning.
- Prepare quarterly and annual progress reports for senior leadership.
- Lead recruitment, performance management, and career development for the sector team.
- Collaborate with Economic Empowerment and Learning & Strategy sectors to integrate social and economic initiatives.
- Represent the foundation at external events, building networks with NGOs, government bodies, and private partners.
Required profile
- Proven experience in leading social development or empowerment programs at a senior level.
- Strong background in budget planning, financial oversight, and reporting.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with ministries and partner organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to design and evaluate impact‑driven initiatives.
- Leadership experience in managing multidisciplinary teams.
