Social Specialist & Labour Compliance Officer

About the role

Alcazar Energy is seeking a Social Specialist & Labour Compliance Officer to ensure strict adherence to Egyptian labour law, international standards and company QHSE requirements across its projects in Egypt. The role involves auditing, monitoring, and supporting contractor compliance while handling worker grievances and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with Egyptian Labour Law No. 14/2025, Social Insurance Law No. 148/2019, occupational safety provisions, IFC/EBRD standards and ILO conventions.
• Plan and conduct labour compliance audits, reviewing contracts, personnel files, working hours, wages, social insurance registration and termination practices.
• Verify zero‑tolerance policies for child and forced labour, non‑discrimination, gender‑based violence prevention and workers’ freedom of association.
• Inspect worker accommodation, camps and welfare facilities against IFC/EBRD guidelines.
• Maintain monthly QHSE statistics, track labour KPIs and ensure foreign workers have valid permits.
• Oversee contractor grievance mechanisms, investigate disputes and maintain detailed logs.
• Coordinate with lenders, authorities and the Ministry of Labour for monitoring visits and compliance reporting.
• Support stakeholder engagement, community liaison and social investment initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Egyptian labour legislation and international labour standards.
• Experience conducting compliance audits and managing grievance mechanisms.
• Ability to prepare reports for lenders, authorities and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and investigative skills.
