Software Backend Development Engineer

About the role

Siemens Digital Industries Software is seeking a motivated Software Backend Development Engineer to join its Cairo team. The role is ideal for professionals with 3+ years of backend development experience who want to grow their technical expertise while contributing to high‑quality, scalable applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build clean, scalable, and efficient RESTful APIs and backend components.
• Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and other developers to deliver high‑quality software solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code following engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues promptly.
• Work with PostgreSQL or MySQL, write queries, and support schema design.
• Participate in code reviews and help improve development standards.
• Support deployment and monitoring activities for backend services.
• Contribute to cloud‑based initiatives, with AWS exposure considered a plus.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience, preferably in backend engineering.
• Strong proven experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Familiarity with RESTful API development.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
• Good problem‑solving skills and a willingness to learn in a team‑oriented environment.
