Software Engineer II – Backend

About the role

talabat is looking for a Backend Software Engineer II to join a cross‑functional team that builds high‑performance services for its on‑demand food and Q‑commerce platform. You will work closely with product, data and engineering peers to discover customer needs and deliver end‑to‑end solutions in small, valuable increments.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product and data teams to continuously discover and validate business problems.
• Design, develop, test, and release backend services that solve end‑to‑end domain challenges.
• Own the scalability and complexity of your services, driving improvements across the software development lifecycle.
• Support your team’s evolution toward a self‑organized, continuously improving unit.
• Critically evaluate and simplify existing technical processes, systems, and solutions.

Required profile

• Understanding of lean/agile values and practices.
• 3+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in an Extreme Programming environment.
