Software Engineer III - Android

About the role

We are looking for a talented mid-level Android Engineer to join our mobile team. In this role you will design, build and maintain high-quality Android applications, working closely with product, design and backend teams to deliver engaging mobile experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement user-friendly, visually appealing Android apps that meet business objectives.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and stakeholders to define requirements, scope and timelines.
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable code using Java/Kotlin and the Android SDK.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers and ensure coding standards.
• Debug, troubleshoot performance issues and optimise app performance.
• Integrate RESTful APIs and work with backend developers for seamless communication.
• Partner with QA engineers to test applications and resolve bugs.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups and retrospectives.
• Contribute to improving development processes, tools and methodologies.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Kotlin, and solid knowledge of the Android SDK.
• Experience with Android Studio, Git and common architecture patterns (MVC, MVP, MVVM).
• Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, JSON/XML parsing and asynchronous programming.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Portfolio of Android applications is highly desirable; experience with Kotlin Multiplatform is a plus.
